Here are ways in which you help me help your gifted student outside of my class:
- Emphasize growth and progress along with goal setting rather than perfection
- Model:
- ways to deal with emotions and stress effectively
- time management strategies and ways to priorities activities.
- how failures are to be used as learning lessons and not setbacks.
- proper ways to communicate with others even when you disagree with their culture, ideas, and opinions
- Provide an environment that promotes self-expression
- Allow opportunities for choice, decision-making and reflection after making decisions.
