Writing and Literacy are very important to the science classroom. According to one source , "choice in reading materials is one of the essential components of a reading program for gifted and talented learners" especially those who are artistically gifted as they usually are not truly interested in reading and writing. Creative and unique strategies and activities must be used in order to keep these students engaged, learning, and writing. Below lists resources to aid in the reading and writing of this type of gifted learner.

Provides students with a range of current events in the science community that can be curated to fit specific chemistry topics and the interests of many students.
The News Generator combines, pictures and diagrams of the teacher's choosing. The students must take notes as efficiently as possible from the newsfeed. It forces them to synthesize information and writing down important points.
According to an article by Patricia Woods called, “Reading Instruction with Gifted and Talented Readers” , students need both "use of technology and the web" as well as "opportunities for book discussions". Padlet provides both in that it is an electronic platform that allows students to comment and discuss topics online with their classmates about any topic.
